  • location of breakers

A day or two ago I requested information about where the circuit breakers were/are physically bolted up under the dash. I have the wires fastened to them and that is not a problem. What I need to know is exactly where the breakers are fastened/bolted/screwed or whatever to the back side of the dash so they do not hang down in sight below the dash.

Thanks to any and all who can let me know where they are to be fastened.

Jimmie....there are snap metal receivers that clip onto the under side of the Z-bar on the dash. The wiper receiver is on the right side, horizontal bar, and the headlight is on the vertical bar , left side...

These each have a strap about 3/8" X approx. 1&1/2" which is attached to the back side of the breakers with a hole in each end for a screw or bolt and I cannot figure out where one of them attaches. I have figuredd out one of them by looking at a picture of the back of the dash.

Jimmie, those might not be original breakers. I think I know what you're describing and it sounds like an aftermarket breaker which is physically teh same size/shape as the original breakers but the originals did not have that strap on them.

I drilled out the spot welds on the back of those aftermarket breakers (Carefully!) to remove the strap so they would fit into the holder under my '53's dash. The holder has rectangular holes the breakers snap into.
