I'm working on Avanti poweer windows and I' not the first person to work on these. Anyway the big spring on the window gear isn't doing anything as I can lift right out of it's slot. There is a hook on the end of the spring and a metal tab to hook it on but they were not put together. Here is the lazy part. I don't want to tear the other door apart to see how this spring should be positioned and I didn't find any shop manual pictures. Should the spring coil or add tension as the window is lowered or should it coil and add tension as it goes up? Seems like it could work either way depending on how the spring is installed. Also I assume that it should have some tension still on it when it's in the extreme up or down position. Something it doesn't have now. Any thought and caution will be appreciated. Ken
