  • 1959 Lark auto trans fluid.

    i just bought my first Studebaker in almost 40yrs-59 Lark VIII. This is probably an old question but. What kind of auto. trans. fluid should I use.

    Your choice, either the current version of Dexron or else if you like a firmer shift, then Type F.

      Since you do not know what is in there now or how long since it has been changed, if the level is low I suggest changing the fluid and using Dexron.

        I would say the older version of fluid, Dexron lll. Aren't there newer versions? Would the newest version harm the automatic traney?
