  • Bellhousing brackets on Avanti auto.

    Hello everyone,
I was attaching the bellhousing and auto box to my engine the other day and I noticed in the parts manual that there were some parts missing. They are prt no's. 1549244/3, two brackets that bolt to the bottom and side of the bellhousing. Does anyone have a photo of them or know why they are there and if they can be left off?
    Many thanks

They are shields that were used on the Warner Gear automatics, primarily to direct the air for cooling on air cooled transmissions and since the Power Shift trans is a variation of them, I would still use them. Automatics can never be too cool. The Avanti crate engine has them installed.
