  • GT Hawk tach sending unit ID

    Hi All,
Does anyone know how to determine which sending unit a tach from a GT Hawk (year unknown) requires?
    Thanks, Mike

If I remember correctly there was originally two versions of tachs and their respective sending units. The plain jane tach with all white numbers got the rectangular unit and the R1, R2, etc. tach with red numbers above 5000 got the round sending unit. Both tachs will work fine with the new updated sending unit sold by the Studebaker suppliers.

The vendors sell two versions, one in a plastic box for the standard 289, and a circuit board style for the Avanti powered canned unit.i
