  • Vacuum wipers

I am working on a 1955 Champion with vacuum wipers. Can I change over
to a later 12 volt wiper motor fairly easily?

YOU DRIVE YOUR STUDEBAKER IN THE RAIN!!?

Really though, I got caught in an unexpected downpour yesterday and they worked just fine, once I found a place to pull over and stop.

I would assume so, I would think that you would need an electric motor from a 53-55 sedan and the matching switch (or 56-60 if you have converted to 12V; the early switch works fine on 12V)

The vacuum wipers are my '50 Starlight really suck so I tried a few things. Went to a double sided fuel pump. It worked a bit better. Used some teflon spray on the inside case of the wiper motor where the flapper rides. Worked a bit better. Best bet was to use rain-x. It worked great. Bugs have as hard a time sticking to the windshield as the rain does. Options: Move to the dry flat-lands! [8D]
