  • 47 to 52 Convertible Rear Window

Can anyone confirm that the out-to-out dimensions of the rear window frame for a 47 to 52 convertible is approximately 9-1/2" tall by 30" wide as measured at the center of the frame? Also do these have a slight Vee shape? Thanks.

I assume that you are referring to the two piece glass convertible rear window. IIRC, they were used 1947-1951 (plastic for 1952). From memory, the dimensions seem about correct and I believe the two halves meet at an angle/vee. Hopefully someone with a correct rear window will measure theirs for you. The last that I knew, Frank Goss has a correct '51 and a spare original rear window frame. You might check with him if you don't get a good answer here or you need to buy a frame.

Maybe 9 1/4" high by 30". Did you find one, or do you need one?

A birdy tells me there will be one on feE-bay on Friday!

Thank you for the info on the dimensions. Yes I found a pretty nice one (some minor pitting on the outer frame) and based on the dimensions it sounds like it's the right one for 47 to 52 Studebakers (w/glass windows). Not knowing what it's worth I was thinking of doing the ebay thing and let the market determine price, however if there is another one coming out on Friday I'll hold off, no need to flood the market.
