  • vacuum wipers & fuel/vacuum pump

I have a 48 champion convertible and would like to know how the vacuum wipers & fuel/vacuum pump should be hooked up thanks

You should have a line from the intake manifold (right below the carb) that goes to the appropriate port on the vacuum half of your dual action fuel pump. Then another line goes from that pump to the vacuum wiper motor. Manifold vacuum and the pump work in unison until on acceleration, the manifold vacuum drops and the pump "picks up the slack" - so to speak. It's not a GREAT fix, but it's better than having the darned wipers stop altogether while pulling a load![xx(]

Which port on the vacuum pump side of your dual action pump, I can't say but if memory serves me, it seems they're marked something like "vac" and "out" or "Wiper" or maybe just V & W. Might depend on the pump maker as to whether its marked at all.
