  • horn voltage

I have a 54commander ht couple converted to 12. I have only "Lo" horn working from a dash switch. I want to add the 'hi" horn and not sure how to determine if the one I have is 12 v or 6v working off of 12v. Do I just add the "hi" horn in series with the existing one?
    thanks

no, in parallel. Just run another heavy black wire from the horn relay down to your additional horn. If you are not a stickler for authenticity I would just buy a pair of new horns from the parts store and use those; keep the original on the shelf. The old ones are better made, but often require cleaning/adjusting/fiddling to work properly.

    good luck,

    nate
