I bought what's supposed to be an NOS tailshaft for the trunk lock assembly on my Lark - you know, the part that always breaks? But when I got it, it was immediately apparent that it's not the right part and will not fit my lock housing.
You can see that while the tailshaft of the "new" part matches the old broken one perfectly, the headpiece that attaches to the lock cylinder is much different.
So what is this part for? Is it for an "original" Lark trunk lock housing? I'm pretty sure the busted part is an SI repro. Will this fit an original 63 Lark trunk lock housing? If so, does anyone have one?
One step closer, two steps back...
