This was researched and reported on in the Co Operator in TW about three years ago. There is a two wire six volt pump with soft vanes, can be pumped through when off. It works for me. but be aware of the danger of not having an automatic shut off.

And one more, NAPA P4259 (~$110) which comes with heavy duty mounting bracket and fittings. This pump runs very quiet and I can attest to using the same pump for 13+ years on a car where it ran anytime the ignition switch was on. I have a filter before the inlet.

I got mine from Carquest, installed near the tank so it pushes fuel rather than pulls it. I also replaced the original mechanical pump. I ran power to the electric pump with a contact switch and only use it if the carb evaporates or I get a cough going up mountains.
