  • Hawk GT Tach driver Inst'l-anyone done it?

    Just got my $75 tachometer sender unit from SI, Instructions say -"do not wire
    this unit wrong under penalty of...and it will burn up---and its your fault!
    I also warns against wiring as the original car install.. Gee Whiz! Any one got one to work sucessfully.? What to avoid?
    It's the Non-R1, rectangular box shaped one.

    I put mine in about 3 years ago, no problem. It's worked fine, just follow the instructions. Some of the original equipment tachs were wired backwards from what the new one is. If you were to connect it in that fashion, I guess it would fry.
