  • frame good?

I just picked up a '62 GT Hawk for free. It has been wrecked in the front end, engine is locked up and the floors are completly gone, (been sitting outside for 20yrs). I want to do a thorough inspection to determine if it's worth saving. I figure on starting with the frame, are there certain places to look? What else should I look for?

    Thanks

    Tom

A GT frame is worth saving even if nothing else is. They usually tend to rust the worst above the rear wheels, the bottom plate rusts off (fixable if that is the only problem)

There's lots of good parts on a GT that can be used on an earlier car too if it turns out to be too far gone...

    good luck

I would also check where the rear back spring shackles are bolted to the frame I have seen several weak in this area
