  • 1940 Headliner

I am trying to determine the correct materials for the headliner in my 1940 commander. The original is missing. The built order says bedford which is a wool. The upholsterer says studebaker never used wool headliners and that they were never the same color as the door panels.
I know they did use wool in 1928 as my very nice original dictator has a green wool headliner. Does anyone know about 1940's. I have tried the antique studebaker people and received no reply. Any help would be appreciated.

FWIW I worked ona '41 commander that had a headliner that matched the door panels. It may have been wool; it was kind of a "mouse fur" type of material.

Try SMS AUTO FABRICS in Camby Oregon. They would be able to tell you exactly what you need.
