  • 65/66 V8 frame mount part #s

What are the part numbers for the frame brackets used in the V8 application in the 65/66 model year. I'm looking to potentially install (please don't throw rotten veggies) a Buick V6 in place of an OHV six, I just have to figure out what kind of motor mounts would work best...

Or if someone has a pair in their parts bin that they would want to sell

Won't work with a Buick V6, so don't waste the $85 a piece they cost.

SI has them. Their PN 1563714-5. $175/pair.

I don't believe a Buick V6 is going to set on Chevy V8 mounts, however, nor would the motor be in the right location. You're going to have to fab the trans mount, exhaust system, cooling system, throttle and trans linkage, drive line, anyway...might as well fab the front mounts too. They are probably the easy part of the swap.

        Jeff,
SI has these mounts in their catalog..Prt# 1563714&5. Bare in mind, these were NOT intended for use on C & K models, but the Lark and Avanti. Their price is $175.00 + freight. (they're cast iron, not stamped steel) Check on E-Bay, or any of the used parts vendors our club has a wonderful group of. Hope this may help.

Didn't figure that those parts would work but it never hurts to ask. I believe that I can get a bracket kit from Advanced adaptors or Nowak that was originally intended for a jeep application. I probably fab a rear mount out of an old Stude crossmember or visit Speedway in in NE and see what that have that might work.

The saving grace is that I don't need to finish this project tomorrow, most of my free time is taken up caring for my infant daughter.

Perhaps you could use the V6 mounts from a mid 80's Regal?
