  • engine v 424435 what year ? etc.

    Hi, I have studebaker engine, just the engine with a number V 424435 and it is 2bbl with dual exhaust. I would to find out more info like year, model, and horse power. Any info would be greatly apprecaited.

    Looks like a 1958 259. I think the 2bbl version was advertised as 170 HP.

      A 1960 259 w/2bbl was listed as 180 HP - w/4bbl it was listed as 195 HP

        Troy,
        According to the 1959-1964 Stuedbaker Shop Manual for cars, your engine # V424435, falls just after the starting engine # for the 1959 model year. BTW, these are South Bend engines. Hope this helps.
