    Hi Everyone
    my latest problem is a vibration which seems to be coming from the prop shaft. Took it into the shop and they say that the rear of the gearbox needs to be lifted to reduce the angle between the gearbox and propshaft. The prop has been balanced and universals are good.Is this good advice and if so , what should the angle between prop and gearbox be ? One other thing , I have lowered the rear suspension by about 3 inches which may account for the increased propshaft angle.

    The angle of the pinion, coming from the differential should be parallel the angle of the tail shaft of the transmission. That way, the angle on each universal is the same. This applies only if you have a one-piece drive shaft.

        FWIW I think that the late C-K's use a "broken back" driveshaft setup - at least it appears to be so from trying to set up the shaft on my '55 (same chassis) - so the comments about similar angles apply but the pinion and the trans output will not be parallel

        to make them parallel you would have to raise the pinion and that might cause floor interference problems
