  • Parts for sale

Now that I have the egg off my face because of e mail problems, I am going to pull the 289 non smoking good running engine, 3 speed overdrive transmission and rearend out of my 57 Hawk if anyone is interested in buying it.
Is it all worth $1000. I live near Columbia, SC

    Is this Hawk wrecked?

    Miscreant at large.

No Mr. Biggs, the Hawk is not wrecked, as a matter of fact it is in very good shape.
Mr Biggs, I read your post and replies and seem like you have a lot of experience and knowledge about Studebakers, keep up the good work, I am a newbe and am sure I will learn a lot on here.

That's ironic, I'm pulling a 383 with a Tremec 5sp out of my 55 Commander and plan to put a Stude back in.

Sorry, I already have most of the parts I need.

The 383/Tremec is going in a 59 ElCamino. I will build
                      another 289 stude later.

                        Midnight,

First I hope that you wont take anything I have to say too personal.

                        How old are you??
How much money do you have to do all the work, parts procurment, etc.
Do you have the ability to complete the swap etc.
How soon will you want to be driving the car.
Maybe you've done several, maybe this is your first??
If this happens to be your first, and or you want to enjoy driving the car you might want to rethink the modifications.
What I'm saying is don't bite off too much for your project the 1st few times around........(don't ask me how I know)

I don't know if this is just me, but this thread sure sounds like a thread posted to get others upset....

Russ, don't worry I am not offended, I take all of the advice that I get seriously.
And the last thing that I would do on here is try to stir anyone up.
