    When I bought my 53 Commander K the owner said that the engine, which is still the original block, had been modified by installing a 289 crank. I have never tried to verify this but I wonder if it was possible? If my 8th grade math is still good it would displace about 259 ci!

    Makes you wonder if the Engineering Dept. ever did any testing with such a combination to check torque, mileage, performance, etc.

      I would think if you went to the trouble of buying custom pistons, he would have bored the block. Then he's have a 289 with tiny heads.
