  • Dipstick in 1960 Hawk

My transmission is not working and I am hoping that it is only a matter of having inadequate transmission fluid.

However, I am unable to find where the transmission dipstick is so that I can both verify this and also to put in additional fluid.

    Thanks for your help

There should be a big square cover on the passenger side of the transmission hump, in front of the seat. It's under there. If someone has replaced the carpet in your car, you may have to peel the carpet back to get to it.

If you had an underhood dipstick, it would be right by the one for the oil, but with a yellow handle instead of orange-red.

    good luck
