  • fuel gauge wireing

There are four posts on the back of the fuel gauge ('57 silver hawk) which accomodate two wires. Can anyone tell me which wires go to which posts?

The middle 'posts' (at 3 and 9 o'clock) are really just studs attached to the body of each instrument. They fit into two holes in a metal channel bracket that surrounds the gage (and the gage below). Washers and nuts are run down on the stud to secure the gage in the dash. The red and black wire to the sending unit goes on the top post, and the white and black wire (powered with key-on) goes on the bottom post.
