    Thanks for the suggestions, Gord. Maybe I will have to rethink taking out the starter and prying on the ring gear. Looks like I will have to take out the distributor though in order to get enough clearance to pull the starter out . . . not like the old pick-up with plenty of working room. Yeck, I hate playing with electrical components if I don't have to. I don't mind gapping the points or that tingly feeling you get when grounding a coil wire on the block to test for spark. HA! But timing issues bother me. They go bang!In any case first things first . . . getting the radiator out now and taking it to the shop for a well deserved cleaning. Just hope I don't have to resort to asking dad to pound out the pistons. He enjoys that kind of thing too much. HA!
