  • Lug nuts

I will be picking up a '52 half ton in a couple days. I have rims and tires but do not know about lug nuts. The truck is a hundred miles away so I need to take along whatever I MIGHT need. What nuts does this truck use and are they L and R or Right hand thread only? Thanks, B

They should be 1/2-20, with left-hand threads on the left side, and right-hand threads on the right. Of course, over the years, someone may have replaced a drum or two...

If you have plenty, take 20 of each, which should cover you for any combination of RH and LH studs.

If not, try to round up at 10 lefts; the rights are very commonplace, and most any auto parts store or tire shop should be able to find a will-fit.
