    For the benefit of those who couldn't attend the York meet. One of the most welcome surprises I found, was Malcolm Berry's retro-fit for a full flow filter on the pre-62 engines. His description of the process, to do this, seemed like a "no-brainer". This guy is a wizard...



    At the National Meet, he'll try and have a display with more of the "Open Engine" training aids.

    And I thought the Nazis had a corner on the V2! Looks like Malcom saved one from Studebaker engineering's scrap heap! [:0][]

    Heck, that mod looks to be simple enough to where even a dummy like ME could pull it off![)] Oh.... wait, you said it's a no-brainer! Then I simply HAVE TO try my hand at it![^]

      Hi Bob,
      He told me that you tap the output gallery from the pump, to a half way point, then insert (and loktite) an allen screw, which winds up between the two hose fittings. The bottom hose is the line out to the filter and the top one, the return.
      I'll have to take a guess at what tool is used to locate the point where you drill in from the rear flange. It has to be pretty accurate.
      I'd also opt to use a steel connection to the bellhousing...
      Excellent work though. I wish I lived close enough to their shop to "help" them out at times.. :-)))

        Very nice setup, that would be a MAJOR improvement on the '51 to early '62 V8's, to filter ALL of the oil before it gets to the bearings![^]

          Dick Datsun described this procedure in one of his old books
          on Stude engines. I followed his procedure and did this to a
          stude partial flow block back in the 80's. Worked out fine.

          Having a ready made kit is real nice.
