  • TWIN TRAC QUESTION

IN A RECENT POST ABOUT TT'S, THERE WAS MENTION OF "CHATTER" WHEN GOING AROUND CORNERS. I'VE NOTICED THAT LATELY ON MY '64 DAYTONA (95 DEGREES HERE, I'VE GOT ALL THE WINDOWS DOWN ON THE HARDTOP)THERE IS CONSIDERABLE NOISE WHEN TURNING. NOT REALLY SERIOUS OR LOUD, BUT SORT OF A CREAKING SOUND. I KNOW THE REAR BUSHINGS ARE SHOT, BUT IT IS DIFFERENT THAN THAT. DO I NEED A SPECIAL LUBE OTHER THAN THE NORMAL OIL?
    I SUPPOSE I COULD READ THE BOOK....[8D]

You can add a small bottle of additive, I use a Kendall product.

Redline Heavy Shockproof does not need the additive. I have noticed no chatter in my car. I agree with JDP that it is likely the clutches in the TT unit. The right lube should fix it up.
