  • McLeod Industries motor plate-- trans adaptor

    A letter from Mcleod Industries back to me concerning a status update on the engine plate that will allow several different trans to bolt up to the Stude V8.

    It has been on back burner for a year while I designed shifters to complete
    the transmission swaps on all cars. We needed the shifters to complete the
    adaptions and no one has ever made offset shifters to do the job.
    We have completed the shifter design and first production, and are into our
    second production. If all goes well we will be back on the motor plate
    adaption this year.

    That's neat news! I'd wondered if this project was dead in the water, but it sounds like there's still hope.
    Did they ever get a Starter to work with. I know they were looking to get one for mock-up.

      Yes Mr. Biggs, I took a starter, bellhousing, flywheel, to Red Roberts last year just about this time. He has given me back everything but the starter. And he has given me the same story about the shifters.

        I hope Red has his webmaster update their website/new product page when he does have it ready.

        I've been wavering between converting my 8E12 to a 700r4/ etc or waiting on Mr Roberts and/or Myers to come out with the motor plate.

        I really want a 2wd version of the NV4500 to put in the CHamp. I think its the best part of my 93 C$&vy diesel 4x4 truck.

          I would drop them a line asking for the status. Never hurts to keep it in front of them and let them know we are anxious for their product to hit the market.
