Another 12 volt conversion question

Hi, I just acquired a 1950 Commander. The person I bought it from must have stopped with the 12 volt conversion half way through. I am having a problem with the turn signal switch that I am sure I can track down and fix. My big question is about the overdrive. I want to make this car a good driver and I definitely need the overdrive to work. Is there a simple solution like a resistor and solenoid change? I would appreciate any advice I can get. FOR SURE, YOU NEED TO CHANGE OUT THE RELAY TO 12 VOLT(ON THE FIREWALL-IT SENDS JUICE TO THE TRANNY MOUNTED SOLENOID)AND THE SOLENOID AS WELL. LOOK ON E-BAY, A JUNK YARD, OR STUDE VENDORS FOR THE 12V. STUFF. A LOT OF DIFFERENT MAKES USED BW O/D TRANNYS.
