    I recently had my Avanti lined up. Even after swithing around the tires, it still pulls left. I also don't think the camber looks right. I don't drive it enough to have any telltale tire wear. So I think the wrong specs were used. Does anyone have that info?

    Charley: I also have a '63 R2 Avanti 4-speed, 3.73 gears). The alignment specs are:
    camber: 0 to 1 degree positive with 1/2 degree more positive on driver's side. Example: right 1/4 deg, left 3/4 deg.
    caster: plus 1/4 degree to negative 3/4 degree (if manual steering you might want to stay more negative to ease steering effort, if power steering go to zero degrees or a little positive).
    toe-in: factory specs (again) call for 3/16 to 1/4 inch total. Some people say with radial tires can go to zero toe-in.
    Hope this helps--these are factory specs from the shop manual.
    Also, I read your questions about ignition timing. Some people are selling vacuum advance units from Chrysler vehicles (originally) which don't begin to advance timing until 15 inches HG--this is way wrong, especially on a supercharged engine. Dave Thibeault sells a unit which is adjustable and it is the only one I would use. This is NOT to be construed as a plug for Thibeault, but I looked high and low and his was the only one which would give advance down at 9-12 inches HG. Good luck with your project.

      Do not set toe-in to zero, you should go for about 1/16", radial or no radial tyres.
      Don't forget to check all suspension and steering joints for excessive play, before any alignment.
