  • Gas Tank Unit

I was starting to reinstall the tank unit in my 56 Champion and noticed a 3/16 hole which was drilled through the base of the inlet tube. Is there a pickup filter that fastens on there with a cotter pin? Or maybe just a cotter pin to keep out something big?
    Thanks, Tom

There's nothing shown like that in the parts book. Certainly, a little strainer on the end of the pipe wouldn't be a bad idea. I know some Ramblers used such.
I wouldn't stick a cotter pin in it. Anything that would stop would play hovoc even if it did only get that far![xx(] Better to just leave it be and run an in-line filter ahead of the fuel pump.

    Miscreant at large.
