  • Original Studebaker 5" wheels

I noted recently that Studebaker changed the wheel width from 4.5" to 5" rim to rim during 1966. I know my '66 has the 4.5" wide wheels. Has anyone ever seen the OEM 5" wheels? Does anyone have any to sell? I assume they work with disc brake equipped cars, but on the other hand did Studebaker have 2 styles of the 5" wheels, one for disc brake cars and one for non-disc brake cars? Personally I don't like the idea of getting aftermarket 6" wide wheels--I think they start looking too wide for the car at about that point.

No, but I would suspect that they are just the 5" wide Avanti wheels used on Avantis and "super" cars from '63 on - therefore they would be disc brake wheels. You'd have to check the part numbers though, this is just a guess on my part.
