    another quick question what is proper engine idle speed for my car? i think somewhere i read that its 550-650 rpm, is this right or is this to low?

    My 60 Lark VI, flathead, idles at about 450, dies very occasionally at a light. I'm going to increase it to 500. Do what feels good.

      550 to 650 should be just fine Cosmo. If it seems a tad too high, just back it of a touch until you're happy.
