  • Ford V8 in 1 1/2 ton Stude?

I've heard that one of the old Ford V8s will bolt up to the transmission in the big Studebaker trucks with the commander six. Is this true? If yes, which Ford V8?

The source of this information is 100% incorrect. Maybe they meant a big Stude V8 would bolt up to a Ford transmission?.....

I believe that both Ford and Studebaker used the Warner T9 4 speed crash box transmission during the late '40s-early '50s. So maybe a Ford flathead V8 and bellhousing would mate up to a T9 from a Stude truck.

However, for my money, the Commander six is way better than a Ford flathead in a truck.
