  • Power Brakes Question 63 Lark

I'm going to be converting our 63 Lark 2dor sedan to power brakesm this spring. I've got the Master-Vac Booster located, and is there some sort of additional vacuum resevoir tank that I am goin to need or does that Vacuum resevoir refer to the actual Power brake booster vacuum cylinder. Any help would be very much appreciated as I want to be sure I have all my parts lined up ahead of time. Thank you...Waydon

There's no "vacuum resevoir" as you suspect. There's only the booster. It gets it's vacuum directly from the intake manifold. So - one less part you have to track down!

Do you have the shop manual for this car? If you don't, they are available from Studebaker International or SASCO.

In Group II is the section on the brake system. The description on page 29, covers the Master Vac system pretty well. It's an independent system. Yours would be the suspended system.

These are by no means the only suppliers available for catalogues or service manuals. You might want to shop around and look into e-bay as well.

      Good luck. That's a nice Lark.[:X][8D] I really like the '63s
