  • gravel guards again?

any '50 Champion gravel guards available? I did the search thing and came up with some answers from a couple of years ago... and searched the 'net and parts suppliers.... no luck...

drivers side is ok, with a few cracks in the rubber...the passenger side is in poor shape... contact cement? black silicon? tear the rubber off and use the metal shield for now? remove them, fill the holes and go for the smooth look? I guess I have a few options....

I don't have gravel guards on my 48 Champion and don't pick-up any nicks or sratches on that area. I think they are for looks? I like mine without them but if they were on my car and in good shape I'd probaly leave them on. In you case i've heard they are hard to find and you might have to remove them. I like the stainless but I think they are even harder to find than the rubber ones. Check e/bay I see them on there sometimes. Good Luck[8D]

I just sold a fair used one for the left side on a 4-door (rubber type) to a guy in Brazil! Only brought $9.99, but then it wasn't like new to be sure.[:I]

Try finding a nice set for a 59 Pickup! [xx(] (Yes, my Scotsman has 'em) Not that I've looked...

I guess we REALLY lucker up. We got a stainless set for the 51 Starlight cheap a couple of years ago.

Neoprene repros are available for the pickups. The rubber ones for the cars are harder to find than the stainless. Also for the cars, the gaurds are very different for two door and four door.
I know where there's a set from a 52 two door but they are probably in the same condition as the ones Bob sold to Brazil.

We got a set or two of the 52's. One set was put on the 52 Champ when we got it, as well as rocker panel stainless.
Our 51 Starlight has the original rubber ones still on it, but we have the stainless ones too as spares.

Say, they sell NEW rubber ones for the truck? Hm...
