Sorry for my ignorance but what is a Heatsink and what is it used for?
I see one for an Avanti on ebay.
Mine doesn't have one but I assume it was an option or later in the production run.

A heat sink is used for helping a part...usually electronic...shed heat faster. That heat sink on Ebay is for transistorized ignition that was installed on R3 and R4 engines as standard...maybe optional on other models. I believe '65 and '66 models came with transistorized ignitions either standard or optional. It could be for one of those. It's not much good without the distributor it goes with. Maybe a nice collectible otherwise.

The transistor ignition used the stock distributer but the condenser had to be removed. It did use a different coil.
