  • steering knuckle assembly question

The steering knuckle assembly out of my 63 GT has a slight "wabble". What is most likely causing this? Would the SI king pin kit correct this or is it excessive end play that can be corrected by shim, or is the king ping pin simply worn out? Opposite side is OK and is much tighter as it rotates.

If you get the King pin rebuild kit, it will include shims, which have to be adjusted for each knuckle.

The king pin floats in a bushing and a needle bearing, either/both of these can be worn out. I'm not sure if the kit comes with instructions, or I found them in the shop manual, but they are every straight forward.
