  • Correct engine color

    Question:

Regarding my 1957 Silver Hawk, with flathead champion 185 engine.

What is the correct engine color???

    Thanks again----Dan

PS--I know Studebaker International sells engine paint, but I want to get the best paint I can---maybe with a hardner. I have not had the best of luck with aerosol cans --no matter how well I prep. If anyone has a secret to keeping paint on, let me know what it is. Dan

    1956 & 1957 Studebaker Turquoise GREEN!

I would ignore the few dozen built at the end of the year, possibly with Silver Engines destined for the 1958 line, diverted to remaining '57's, and go with the norm. [^]

Is the oil fill tube/neck green also? How about the oil filler cap?

55 ( non presidents) would be the 55 only blue with silver valve covers, and air cleaner. Presidents have Gold valve covers, and air cleaner.

                Thats what I said!
Don't forget that Commanders, had different color valve covers (and air cleaners) than Presidents.
Rich made it sound like everything got painted Alberta Blue.

Ok, I agree. But I thought most people get that you don't Paint EVERYTHING the Block Color right up to the Carburetor.
