  • Anyone put a 4 speed in a '60 Lark??

    Happy New Year to all!!

I'm putting a T10 in a '60 Lark. Has anyone here done this and if so, how/what did you do the mount the clutch operating shaft to the transmission. I have a bracket that came with the transmission but it appears to be one for mounting it in a Hawk and places the pivot too far forward. A picture would be great if possible.

    Thanks for your input.

If it is for a convert it is alittle harder.
    I put a t-10 in my 59 ht.

I used the two bottom bolts on the tail housing to secure to the tranny.
The clutch operating shaft has to be shortened.
Because the t-10 is wider than the 86 .
the distance can be figured out on the bench if you have a spare bell housing,I was luccky I had the engine out with the t-10 on it

and the 86 with the pivot bracket on it.
he shifter I used was a hurst comp 63-66-chevy
I had to cut the shifter and bend it forward to keep my benchseat

    Hope this helps
    JOE

        Joe,

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for!! This is why I love this site so much!! Where else could you find info so quickly. I'm glad you had the photos on hand.

Nice looking '59. Must be a lot of fun with the R2! I would love to put one in ours someday but finding the blower pieces keeps getting harder all the time.

I was wondering what starter you are running and where you got it?

        Thanks again for the help!!
