  • Hawk gas tank question

When I put a new sender in my tank (still attached to the car) I noticed the pickup tube that comes in from the bottom front of the tank. How far towards the back of the tank does it go? I assume it goes to the back to avoid starvation during acceleration???? It seems to be positioned slightly above the bottom of the tank at the point of entry. Does it eventually get closer to the bottom?

It ought to end about a 1/3rd of the way from the rear of the tank and is should be close to the bottom.
