  • Different Oil Pumps

Today when I tried to install an oil pump rebuild kit on my 289 the gears were too large [diameter] to fit into the pump body. My oil pump came out of a 53 232 V8. Is there a difference in the oil pumps on the earlier model engines

      Darryl,
I've got a good used late model pump if you don't have another. It's yours if you want to come get it. 30-40 minute drive. Lemme know.
