  • Champ electrical woes

When the turn signals and windshield wipers are activated on my 62 Champ they don't work and the generator light comes on. When I turn them off the light goes off. All the other lights work fine. This happened all of a sudden. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know this sounds obvious but check the grounds, especially the one between the frame and the engine. Wouldn't hurt to check the ACC connection on the back of the ignition switch too, it looks like they both feed through it. Do you have a copy of the wiring diagram?

I am remembering this same thing happening in one of mine. The ignition switch was the culprit the accessory side was losing contact.

I agree with checking the ground connections between the block and frame and checking the connections on the ignition switch and the switch itself as they are now close to 50 years old and have been used thousands of times. I also put a ground wire between the block and the firewall on my Studes as I believe that the ground connection between the frame and the body is old and not in really good condition. Bud
