  • radiator question

I know the 61 to 66 Lark type radiators will interchange.I also had a 64 GT Hawk radiator that was the same dimentions as the Lark type radiators. My question is will all the mid 50s to 66 radiators have the same basic dimensions allowing one to be bolted in place of the other?
This question bypasses any hose connection placement or size variations.Thanks.

yes, only difference is that to use a Hawk radiator in a Lark you have to transfer over the little bent sheetmetal thing with the "Caution Fan" decal on it, and to use a Lark radiator in a Hawk you have to remove the same piece. Other than that, if you swap six to six or V-8 to V-8 they are pretty much the same. (ASSuming that we're talking about later ones for the two bolt Chevy style thermostat housing.)

I swapped the stock radiator from a 64 Cruiser into my 58 Champion when I upgraded to a 259. It fit perfectly, no problems. The only difference (other than upper tank appearance) was the diameter of the inlet/outlet tubes as the 58 radiator was for a 185.
