  • body shimming

Over the years I have picked up bits and pieces of discussions
on shimming the body to frame in order to get proper door and front
clip alignment and gaps. The maintainence manual really does not
give a good explaination for body off and back on procedure (guess they weren't planning on that!) Has this subject ever been in an
issue of Turning Wheels and gave a detailed explaination of the procedure ? I sure would like to have it to add to Ray's posted procedure for fender and door alignment

When I took apart an unmolested 55 Champion, I found 7 spacers under one side and 2 under the other. Its back together now, but it was lots of fun.
