Let me look at my specs real quick, but I "think" the wheel bases are different.

Ok, they look to be the same wheel bases, so they should be almost the same. But, I belive the 66 frame will also have a X member in it, like the convertables, I don't know if that would case a problem or not. I'm sure someone else will chime in that has more experiance in this though.

The '66 will only have an X brace if it has the sliding roof.

        I don't see why it wouldn't work.

What engine are you going with from a 66? If its a 6 cylinder you may have some clearance issues with the radiator. On the 65 & 66 Studes the radiator support was slightly forward with a "cutout" section in the upper radiator panel. Other than that, you should be fine.

The original 1966 v-8 more than likely upgraded to a 301ci. It was a sliding roof body, so i guess that means it would have the x-member and the flight-omatic. But i see no reason why that couldn't be modified to take a turbo-4hundred
