  • 57 GH frame swap

Will an Avanti frame swap under a 57 Golden Hawk? Not sure if it's a Studebaker or Avanti ll.

No, wrong length. Avanti frame is basically a modified Lark frame.

as noted- the Avanti frame will NOT fit.

You need a 1962-64 GT Hawk frame. Changing to a 1958-1961 is only a marginal upgrade, but can be used also.
The GT frame is heavier, but may need removal of one set of outriggers (I know they need removed for a coupe body- but I have not done this swap to a hardtop).
The GT frame also does not have the 2-piece drive shaft cross member. You can install the one from the GH frame, or go to a 1-piece drive shaft IF you use a 1958-1964 long-tail shaft transmission.
