  • Steering Box Seals?

I am trying to find seals and gaskets for the steering box on a 53. It is a Ross box, TL125998. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, what type of oil should we use. The book says its a "special" Ross oil. If so where can I find that.

    Thank You

The gasket is a 530916 and the seal is a 679257. The oil is your preference, some pack the gear box with wheel bearing grease, others use the stuff from Lee Manufacturing in Sun Valley. Lighter oils will drain out fast, that seal is good for keeping dirt out. Ross was bought out by TRW a number of years ago so good luck at finding anything from Ross.

The seal is readily available from most vendors. I have the seal available but not the gasket.
