  • What is high idle speed?

I've looked in the Owner's manual, the Shop manual, and everywhere else I can think of... but I can't find the spec for high idle speed. I have a 259 with WCFB and FOM. Can someone please tell me what high idle should be set at? Thanks!

From what I've seen over the years, at the very tippy top of that fast idle cam, it would be comfortable around 1200-1400 rpm

I've never seen a spec for the high idle speed either. I set the high idle speed as low as I can get it without the engine running rough or stalling when it's cold. Bud

1200 comes to mind, but I can't back that up with data.
