oil pressure gauge hookup?

    Thanks guys. I finally got it today. Guess the car felt that I was not sufficiently contorted yesterday, so I became more pretzel-like and the car respected that [)]

    As with any threaded fastener, I always start by loosening about 1/2 turn to align the threads. In an area where there is little space to work, it is often easy to not have the pieces aligned on the same axis.

    Sometimes these things just take time and patience.

    Unless the threads are stripped, as with any double flared fitting, the threads must start straight.
    I often find starting flared fittings is a question of mind over matter.
    Your mind must say, "You're going on there straight."
    Sometimes the matter is saying, "No, I'm not!"
    I've never experienced stripped threads on these fittings.
    The only tip I have to offer is patience. Once it starts straight you'll know it. Don't force it; don't strip it.

    started a topic oil pressure gauge hookup?

    oil pressure gauge hookup?

    I'm putting the gauges back in my dash and, try as I might, I can't get the little oil pressure line to screw into the back of the gauge cluster. Does anyone have any tips for doing this? All the wires are hooked up to that gauge pod and I'm working through the other two holes.
