  • 4 speed shifter question-63 Lark

Can anyone tell me if there is a Hurst shifter that will work with the T10 in a bench seat 63 Lark? Was there a factory bench seat 4 speed shifter or did you have to have bucket seats with the 4 speed? This is one of the last pieces I need for my 4 speed conversion.
    Thanks
    Todd

Summit sells the Lark/Hawk shifter and Hurst has many bench seat levers. I'd weld the factory bench seat lever to the Hurst. SASCO still has the levers.

I have the same problem with a 63 Lark split bench front seat, the factory shifter is sloppy but tolerable. It looks like a Hurst shifter 3913780 and kit 3737494 might work, this combination is for a 55 / 57 Chevy. Available at Summit.

          From the Hurst Website:

          HAWK 59-64 w/Bucket Seats 4 Speed, Trans BW T-10 Shifter: 391 7308 Install kit: 373 4734

Nothing listed for the Lark w/ Bench.

Shifter is the same, you just need a bench seat lever from Hurst, or the welded on factory unit. the 55-57 Chevy lever suggested might just be the ticket.

Thanks guys. That just might be the ticket. Others have suggested going to buckets, but that will kill my sleeper image [8D]
I like 'em plain and "sans" options
If I were a Chevy guy, I'd choose the 427 bench seat 4 speed Biscayne over a similarily equipped Caprice. I love the fact my Lark is radio delete and I can't wait for the day when I slap on my NOS doggie dish hubcaps!

Geez, what is it with guys who like Plain-Jane sleepers? I'm the same way- I'd rather see a big ol' Gradpa-looking car with huge power than any 'Vette, Camaro, etc.... wasn't always that way, but having had all the muscle cars in the past- and being you see row after row of them at car shows- I got bored.....[xx(][|)]

'Course, if I could find one more 4-spd.'70 Charger for rational money, I'd make an exception.....[]
