I just recently converted our 63 Lark OHV 6 cylinder to a 100 amp
GM, Delco type, one wire alternator and it really works great. It was suggested when I bought the alternator to get the one with the
double pulley as that made lining up belts much easier. This was almost a drop in installation,as the new alternator almost fits perfectly inside the original Studebaker alternator bracket, where
where the original Studebaker alternator straddled the outside of the bracket. I did have to grind the front mount of the new alternator down about 1/8" to get perfect alignment with the other
pulleys. This alternator really does a nice job of charging up your
battery quickly. I got a nice Alternator from Gilespie Auto Electric
in LeClaire Iowa for $60. Gilespie Auto Electric is a rebuild shop
that sells to auto parts stores and jobbers, so that is why his cost is so reasonable. His phone number is 563-289-4055
